Turkey Burger Bowls

This dish is the perfect recipe to mix up ground meat that isn’t just limited to tacos or meat sauce, although those are always crowd favorites! Additionally, it’s a fantastic option for repurposing leftover burgers if you’re looking for a quick one-bowl meal as opposed to the traditional bun.

This recipe is not only simple and fast to prepare but also versatile. You can easily swap out the rice for chips to have on the side or for dipping. A major bonus is that it’s an ideal family dinner choice since everyone can customize their own bowl to suit their preferences.

Ingredients (serves 4)

  • 1lb ground beef or turkey

  • 1 cup rice

  • 2 cups shredded lettuce

  • 1 cup chopped tomatoes

  • 1 cup shredded cheese (optional)

  • Additional toppings like pickles, mustard and mayo or whatever you like on your burgers!

Directions

  1. Add rice to a small to medium pot with 1-2 cups water (check your rice for exact water amount as some vary).

  2. Cook ground meat until browned.

  3. Once rice is cooked, add to a bowl with ground meat and top with cheese, lettuce, tomato and drizzle with mustard, mayo or other toppings!
