Don’t want to have the oven going on a hot summer day, but want something comforting? Savor the exquisite flavors of these French Dip Sandwiches, perfect for a filling family dinner that will surely satisfy everyone at the table!
Makes 6 servings
2lb boneless beef roast
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon dried thyme
1 teaspoon dried rosemary
Salt & Pepper to taste
2 cups beef broth
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
6 French Rolls or Hoagies
6 Slices Provolone Cheese
Season the beef roast with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, dried thyme, and dried rosemary.
In a skillet, heat oil over medium-high heat. Sear the seasoned beef roast on all sides until browned.
Add roast, beef broth and Worcestershire sauce to the slow cooker. Cover and cook on low 4-6 hours, or until the beef is tender and easily falls apart.
Shred in the slow cooker or remove and slice.
Slice the French rolls in half and place a layer of provolone cheese on the bottom half of each roll.
Add a generous portion of sliced or shredded beef on top of the cheese.
If desired, you can toast the sandwiches in the oven for a few minutes to melt the cheese.
Serve with a side of cooking juices from the slow cooker for dipping.
